I absolutely loved my stay here. Staff was so welcoming and went out of their way to make me feel at home and exceptionally helpful. My room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. Best part was view, absolutely gorgeous and especially at sunset. I couldn't have asked for better experience and will definitely be back.
Sam was very nice and all the other staff members. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the air conditioning was cold and the refrigerator keep everything chilled. The view from room 410 at night was great. Thanks.
Young, humble, family-owned, family-occupied, no frills motel adorned by a good luck Hindu Ganesh statue. Manage your expectations in relation to value for money. They resolved a problem quickly and fairly. Tip: If booking via Priceline, etc., confirm your reservation and that they have your correct contact info.
I stayed for a week. They promptly provided items you might expect elsewhere, such as a thick blanket, extra towels, and a hot water kettle. Just ask.
Spend the little extra on a 3rd or 4th floor, rear, west-facing balcony room. More than worth it (see pics).
The room was large and clean. Excellent AC. Cold floors (stone tile). Hot water. Canine-friendly, though technically a $25/night fee. I'd make the reservation directly and ask whether they can reduce/waive it.
The motel itself is not so much dirty as old (except avoid the ancient staircase). The two elevators are somewhat slow and outdated, and they require up-to-date inspection certificates.
A desk attendant is generally there, but not always. I communicated with the wife/mother owner via text.
Ouch the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Of course it was cheap, so I wasn’t expecting much. But I didn’t know it was even legal to rent rooms that are visibly extremely moldy all over the place. You can see mold stains repainted over everywhere on the walls, as if the room had suffered multiple water leaks that were simply covered up, the wall surface itself looks deformed in multiple places. And they didn’t care enough to even properly fix the windows, which were surrounded in black stuff, holes etc. The smell was awful and strong of cleaning products with a musty background, showing they’re trying to mask the mold smell. Dead roach on the floor, a baby one running around. Even the tv’s remote control was all fixed up with some tape to hold the batteries in… everywhere you look it’s basically broken and half patched up. We drove a long time that day so I really didn’t have the energy to move…
Also at night there was all kinds of noises, including a dripping sound, and a consistent “beep”. Next time I would spend double to actually sleep somewhere decent. Also looks like it’s a bette deal if you drive out to Brownsville and get something in town.
Bottom line: Please don’t come here. The mold is so intense.
I stayed at Blue Bay Inn in South Padre Island and had a wonderful experience. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach and restaurants! The room was clean and cozy, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming!
The pool area was relaxing, parking was convenient, and the Wi-Fi worked great!
