Room looked nothing like what was advertised! Restroom tub paint was chipping and It had about maybe 3 small cockroaches. We also had 2 small lizards in our room … you can definitely tell people live here just keep that in mind ! Pool was under “maintenance” we walked passed it and it was all green and looked like it hasn’t been touched in months … also we noticed the ac units outside had buckets to hold water and it just looked not clean 😬
The room was absolutely disgusting — nothing like the pictures. The bathroom had what looked like blood stains, the door didn’t lock, and everything smelled of humidity. The bed was holding up the mini split, the hallways had buckets catching water, and the towels looked dirty and gross. I felt unsafe and left after only 10 minutes. The only good thing about this hotel was the polite and kind person at the front desk. By far the worst and most unsanitary hotel I’ve ever seen.
The staff was amazing. The water was always hot. So sad the room was not up to expectations. The bed and pillow is warn out. The shower was really disappointing. The shower head came off when I was attempting to adjust it. I did get bit the nights I stayed there. They should consider updating rooms… Fire extinguisher need updating as well.
I recently stayed at Ocean Inn and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When we first checked in, the room they gave us had a broken AC. I had an elderly family member with me who gets overheated very quickly, so this was a serious issue. I went to the front desk within five minutes of checking in and asked to be moved. They did give us another room upstairs, but then mentioned we might be charged a $20 cleaning fee just for using the restroom in the first room even though the AC issue wasn’t our fault. That felt very unfair.
The second room was slightly better in terms of temperature, but absolutely not worth the $300 we paid for two nights. The towels felt dirty and cheap, like they’d been washed with low-quality detergent. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the blankets were so thin it was like sleeping without one at all.
Outside the room, the property looked neglected. There were huge potholes right in front of our parking spot, and empty detergent boxes stacked near the AC units, which looked like they were leaking very unprofessional and unsightly.
We used to stay here back when it was Motel 6 and never had these problems. Now that it’s Ocean Inn, things have definitely gone downhill. It’s clear that the place needs major renovations and better management. Unless you’re in desperate need of a place to stay, I don’t recommend this hotel. The only positive thing I can say is that I didn’t see any roaches and the lady in the front office was nice.
Very disappointed overall and won’t be returning.
We booked the room during the weekend so already we paid a good amount of money ($350 for 2 nights) only to get a barely decent room. The rooms are NOT like the pictures. Their wifi did not work so we used our own cellular data, the pool is very small and seemed green so I’m assuming they hadn’t adjusted the pool chemicals for the busy weekend. All the towels were stained in some way. We only were given a shampoo packet so we didn’t even have any regular hand soap. Walls were pretty thin so we could hear other peoples conversations. And lastly there was a little dead roach in our shower. But the workers always had a nice friendly attitude. The TV was working and the AC worked really well. And the area was well close to everything you’d want to explore on the island.
