I am writing this review from the parking lot of a different hotel after being forced to abandon my prepaid stay. This was not just a bad hotel stay; it was a consumer nightmare that put my family's health and safety at risk and cost us hundreds of extra dollars.
The Original Problems (Room #1):
We checked in to a room that was actively under construction, with tools and debris in the hallway. The front desk clerk was glaringly rude and made us feel like criminals just for existing. The room was unbearably humid, with a visibly leaking AC unit creating a puddle on the carpet (mold risk!). The bathroom fan was broken, the trash cans were overflowing, and the staff we encountered spoke zero English, making resolving anything impossible. There was no breakfast as advertised.
The "Upgrade" Scam (Rooms #2 & #3):
We complained and were moved—not once, but TWICE. Each move was a downgrade, not an upgrade. The problems compounded: new rooms had broken locks, stained bedding, non-functional Wi-Fi (a critical need for travelers), and televisions that didn't work. The "construction" noise was constant, starting at 7 AM. It became clear they were just shuffling us between uninhabitable rooms, hoping we'd give up.
This place has horrible lighting, tiny towels, and no toiletries. You get a bar of soap and that’s it. The beds are decently comfortable but that’s about it. The price was also not cheap so if you can spring the extra cash just stay at a holiday inn express. My sister booked this dump so I’m grateful but next time I’ll do the booking.
First they put me in a room without a working tv. I had to go up to the front desk and ask for a tv remote. And she gave me a very weird look, I told her my room number again... and she then says " OH that room, yeah the TV doesn't work" would you like another room, I can move you into the room next door. Sure I said.
The room is small, very small, floors are filthy, no fridge, no coffee maker, no microwave. The headlamp over the bed didn't work the first day I was there. I got up to go to work at 530 am no coffee in the lobby either. They want $3.00 for a small bag of chips in their machines. I told myself I'll stop at Walmart later on the next day. The towels are thinner than dish towels worn from decades of over use. The pillows are extremely flat, I asked the lady at the front desk if I could have a couple pillows, and she lied to my face and said they didn't have any... Umm I've been here for over 3 days and every day they have that linen closet open they have shelves with pillows. So I'll just leave it here instead, and the pillow Nazi can keep her pillows. Wife saw a roach a couple of times while she was here. The shower was repainted and the paint is peeling from the floor. Since it was repainted it is very slippery be very careful going in and out of the shower.
Im here for work and will be here at least 10 days. I'll forward this to my employer so they can decide if they ever want to send their employees here ever again.
Location is OK, close the freeway, but you'll be at the mercy of the people on the road to let you in.
This place is not for tourist. Go to the island or another hotel that has good reviews. Its a high risk area for sketchy behavior. If you have family or kids i dont recomend this place. In a time of desperate need this will be a shelter as long as you stay indoors and dont congregate witht the public. Has a really bad history of things happening on these property.
No way this is actually 3 stars. As soon as you enter your room you are met with a wall of bleach. So much bleach your eyes start to burn and youre coughing your lungs out. Not to mention the bed sheets are so worn out yiu can see through them damn things. I'll leave the restroom to your imagination.
