This was my go-to motel for when i work in Brownsville (quite often) but the manager just tried a trick I have not yet encountered and I will not be returning unfortunately. I arrived at approximately 11am and asked if he had a room available that I could get into early. He said he did and so I asked if it was OK if I used my normal app that I always use. Not to my surprise, he said yes that's fine but if you book online you have to wait till 2 or 3 or whatever their normal check-in time is. I kind of expected this so I told him that I would book thru him even tho it was going to cost me about $25 more than what my app would have cost. He then said on top of his $25 higher price than what i usually pay that it would be an additional $25 "early check in fee" even after he just told me it was a room that was not used the previous night so they wouldn't have to go thru any extra trouble to get me into that room but it would still be an extra $25 fee that I have never heard of and I say that as a person who stays in a minimum of 100 motel nights per year for the last 5 years. He tried to tell me that I would pay extra anywhere to check in early and I then told him that I have gotten into rooms as early as 9am before and NEVER been charged extra. I was prepared to pay his normal price but not his "additional fees". I guess he doesn't remember me from last week or my 3 week stay at the end of last year or any of the other times I've stayed there. He let me walk out so I guess he has no trouble paying for his Cybertruck that he has bought to go with his other Tesla that he has had for a few years. I guess the moral of the story is to get ahead in life "you must create new taxes to get as much money as possible from your regular loyal customers". I deeply regret ever giving him any of my money previously and all the recommendations I have given to other people I know/work with that stay in Brownsville often. It won't happen again tho
This place was disappointing. I reserved a double bed room for me and my 3 kids! They charged extra per person. The restroom smell bad when we got there. My pillow smelled bad. The shower dispensers had no soap or shampoo. We had our own so it wasn’t too bad.
The breakfast was just cereal. They pretended to have drinks but was just water with food coloring, it tasted awful when you’re expecting juice not worth the $150 we paid.
Let’s get right into it. Clean rooms from top to bottom ☑️ Cleaning service cleans everyday. Which is how it should be, and used to be at any decent hotel. This is to make sure no build up of dirt, mold ect. accumulates. The appliances are up to date with a real mini fridge, separate freezer so you can buy decent groceries if staying longer than a day. I recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay while on business, wifi is great also. It is also quiet here, there is order 💯 meaning no loud disturbances. There is a small breakfast station for a toast, cereal, juice, and coffee also. Almost forgot.. there is a clean pool 3.5 ft- 5.2 feet!
CLEAN Rooms! No hot breakfast, no in room coffee (wasn’t a big deal to us as we travel with our own). Staff very friendly! Dan is awesome! He was very happy to suggest places to eat that were amazing! Jacob was very polite when checking us out! Maid service is A+!
If you have high expectations, don't book this place. For the price they charged it definitely was too high, these rooms should never run more than $85!!! The images they have are not 100% accurate, from the room I was checked into. It is dated, they tried to do some upgrades, but it still needs some work. The room was very dark, even after turning on the lights. The sheets seemed clean. The bed was ok, but when you moved around it was making a clunking sound, and we are not big people. The floor seemed like it was just damp, even though we did not wet it, the room has no carpet.
The water was good and hot while bathing. From the pictures you can see it needs some more cleaning though. The room smelled clean, which was why we stayed.
However we did have some guest outside of the room making a lot of noise by yelling/ loud talking, at 5am on a Sunday, for about 5 or 10 minutes.
Overall I personally would not stay here again, but if you are in a pinch and need a place to bathe and try to sleep, it might work if you are used to sleeping anywhere, but definitely do not pay more than 100 for it.
