Everything about my stay at Embassy Suites McAllen was excellent. The only small challenge was finding the entrance to the parking lot, but once inside, everything was perfect. The view from my room was outstanding, and I want to give special thanks to Carlos, who checked me in. He was friendly, efficient, and made sure I was well accommodated. The fast and smooth check-in set a great tone for the stay. I also loved the happy hour—it was a great highlight. Highly recommend this location.
Didn’t have the rooms available at 6p, short staffed. No free wifi without divulging a ton of data for them to harvest and sell. No other Embassy Suites I’ve been to requires this. Bar and front desk staff were super nice, only redeeming quality, but that is their job. Wont stay here again. Do better.
I had a very disappointing experience with the front desk customer service at this Embassy Suites in McAllen.
The associate I dealt with, Marina, was extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked for water and was told it would cost $2, even though I saw her preparing complimentary welcome bags with water. When I explained that I never received one at check-in, she responded in a rude tone saying, “I don’t even remember.”
Her customer service was terrible and the way she spoke to me was disrespectful. There was no attempt to help, apologize, or resolve the situation. Instead, I was made to feel like I was bothering her for asking a simple question.
This experience negatively affected my stay, and customer service like this is unacceptable for a hotel at this level
The rooms are good and comfortable and as a business hotel at the convention center is a good place to be but that's where the good news ends...Barry's bistro is nr 1 of content...on the first day we got a menu that did not show the food offered at reception..all of a sudden the server came up with an updated menu (why give out an old menu first) still our food choice was not on it and after about 30min back and forth with the other 3 jobless (it was empty) waitresses and me taking pics of the menu from the front desk they decided they did have it ( and it was delicious) ..so good we went back second night where they managed to give us the WRONG bill in a restaurant of 2 tables .unable to delete the tao etc. Etc ..new order made and paid finally.
No the REALLY bad stuff..the jacuzzi..according to managment its the old paint coming through and the place gets cleaned every night..i let you judge.pics and video attached..video taken at 10am before(right when) it opened so no had been using it...if only i could convey the musky/pesky smell that comes out of the water..there is one video which i will post later as i will give management one more chance to make up for this ruined weekend stay...(Me using a towel to wipe just one spot and it comes out nastyyyyyyy
Edward was incredibly considerate and professional at check-in. After a 36-hour drive, arriving on January 7th, it meant a lot that he went out of his way to check me in early. He was consistent, helpful, and genuinely kind, which made a huge difference after such a long journey. Excellent service and a great first impression—thank you, Edward!
